Sicily 4 Days, 3 Night Extension

Day 1 | Arrival Day to Palermo | Discover Sicily
Upon arrival Sicily, included transfer to the hotel and check-in. Rooms will be ready no later than 2pm.

(It's more than an island! Discover Sicily and discover the world. The world's first multicultural society, Sicily is Italy's (and Europe's) most historically cosmopolitan region, having been ruled by Asians, Africans and Europeans. Sicily is black and white and a million shades of gray. There's no other place on Earth like Sicily. The island is a unique place full of art, archaeology, history, folklore and breathtaking scenery.

Tonight our local guide, Angela, will meet you for dinner. Our hotel tonight is the Federico II in Palermo or similar.

Day 2 | Welcome To Sicily
After breakfast we visit our first stop up to the surrounding hills to see the best view of the Madonie Park . Transfer in Polizzi Generosa , a small village , surrounded by cheerful countryside and green pastures.
Enjoy a Visit of Polizzi Generosa. It lies in the Madonie Mountains' Natural Park. This internal region between the Northern Coast and Central Sicily has a wealth of ancient small villages, where many people still live according to the Sicilian traditions. It is an ancient village rich in historical and artistic attractions. We will have time for a visit to the Park's Museum. During the walk through the town's medieval streets, guests will have a break for a sampling of typical sweetmeats.

Later today you will enjoy either our cooking lesson or a continuation of our touring.

You Choose:

Culinary Experience: Then we’re off for a lovely drive through the beautiful village to the home of a private family where you will enjoy a cooking lesson. The owner will teach you to prepare some of the most popular and essential recipes according to the local tradition and of course homemade pasta. Enjoy Lunch with our new friends.

Touring: Departure to Cefalù known for its long golden beach as well as for other monumental and artistic "jewels", the Norman Duomo, initiated under Roger II in 1131, preserves precious mosaics which adorn the apse and a representation of Christ Pantocrator. Of great interest is the striking medieval wash-house and the Mandralisca museum, the latter preserving the famous portrait of an unknown man by Antonello da Messina. A visit to Cefalù cannot exclude a stroll along the lanes in the historical centre where you can linger amongst the numerous shops of ceramics and souvenirs. Back to Palermo . Dinner on your own and overnight .
