We are proud to present the Canyon Lands Field Trip 2009 lead by John Clayton. Come join us for a week of indepth learning and experience! By the way, did you know the Does God Exist? ministry receives no compensation or revenue from this event?

Join people from across the USA and enjoy the beauty of God's creation throughout the Canyon Lands with your host team: Alan Doty,
senior lecturer and team member with John Clayton's program, Mark Story, Senior Tour Captain and Host, Nathan and Erin Collins, our newest team members of the Initiative to Expand the work related to the Does God Exist? lectures and John Clayton, who will lead the field trip.
Highlights of the Trip

  • Explore the majesty of the Grand Canyon with commentary on hike by Alan Doty
  • The beauty of Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Meteor Crater Park and Glen Canyon inspire while learning of the harmony of science and the biblical record.

    Trip begins in Flagstaff, transportation, entrance to parks, lecture materials, breakfast, lunch and motels.

    Host & Teaching Team: 

  • Lead by John Clayton - This man of science and Christ follower provides incredible insight into the creation and subsequent development of our world.

  • Alan Doty, a powerhouse of information and past co-host of the Does God Exist? Canyonlands Trips with John, leads a newly assembled team dedicated to expanding the influence of the work of the Does God Exist? lectures.

  • Mark Story, QueensLander's general manager and groups manager also serves as worship leader on the Canyonlands trips and will serve as Host on the trip. Mark works as the worship minister at The Church in South Denver and has a Masters of Science in Education from Harding University.

  • Nathan and Erin Collins, our two newest members of the team, provide a powerful combination...Erin with a background in biology provides a unique perspective.

All Ages and Mobility are welcome on this trip!

ITINERARY
Itinerary Subject to Change:

Day 0 | WELCOME TO FLAGSTAFF, Orientation and Worship Service, 7-9pm
Welcome to the Canyonlands!

Tonight join us for a night of worship, introductions of our newest team members and orientation to our adventure. The event is held at the Holiday Inn Express in Flagstaff. A pre-night rate is available by calling QueensLander at 1 (877) 865-6711 and includes continental breakfast. You may leave your vehicle parked at the Holiday Inn Express. Call us for details and instructions.

Day 1 | Flagstaff to Grand Canyon National Park

We depart from the Holiday Inn Express in Flagstaff (about two and half hours from Phoenix) at 8am sharp. Breakfast today and transportation to the Holiday Inn Express is not provided.

• This morning enjoy learning about the week's adventures and begin lectures. We leave Flagstaff on route to the Grand Canyon.
• Enjoy the IMAX presentation of the Grand Canyon (included)
• Stop: Today enjoy a hike with Alan or opt to spend time at the Grand Canyon Village
• Lunch on our own expense today at the Grand Canyon Village.

Adventure Stop: Desert View (about 3 hours) – The tour group will split into two smaller groups for optional hike with Alan Doty down into a portion of the canyon with commentary. This is a rigorous hike and only those who are healthy and in good physical shape will be able to participate. Please note, you must provide a letter from your physician indicating your health and ability to participate. (Those not attending will remain behind where there is a gift shop and incredibly scenic views of the canyon).
Tonight we arrive at the historic Cameron Trading Post, a lodge owned and operated by the Navajo Nation.

Day 2 | Bryce Canyon National Park
Adventure Stop: Welcome to Bryce Canyon National Park. We have ample time today for either an optional hike with Alan Doty or enjoy time at the top of the canyon enjoying the inspiring view. Hikers may enjoy two trails: a short and a longer trail depending on your interest and ability. Alan will lead the longer hike while John will lead the shorter hike and spend time at the rim!

Day 3 | Zion National Park
Adventure Stop: Welcome to beautiful Zion National Park. We enjoy two wonderful days in this area with ample time today for either an optional hike with Alan Doty or enjoy time on your own on the many hiking and scenery options.

• Enjoy Zion for hiking and nature walks or check out the IMAX theater and regular theater movies.

Day 4 | From Zion to Flagstaff: Lowell Observatory & Farewell Events
Enjoy time in Zion this morning until 1pm and then depart for Flagstaff.

• Tonight after dinner we journey to the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff for a delightful time together.

Day 5 | Meteor Crater, Petrified Forest

Today enjoy a delightful tour of the Meteor Crater along with the Petrified Forest.

• BREAKFAST INCLUDED
• Enjoy breakfast and check-out.
• Travel to the Meteor Crater for ample time at the center and crater
• Enjoy commentary throughout the Petrified Forest and stop to eat lunch at the diner inside the Petrified Forest park – at your own expense.
• Drive back to Flagstaff (and onward to Phoenix Airport)
• Estimated arrival 5 – 6pm

What To Wear
