Day 03—Welcome to Cabo San Lucas! Outrageous, action-packed Cabo San Lucas is the Cabo you see on MTV. It's spring break here year-round, making it the preferred home base for the let-it-all-hang-out crowd. Cabo San Lucas offers rowdy nightlife, a slew of trendy restaurants, and lively beaches. A major sportfishing fleet is headquartered here, cruise ships anchor off the marina, and there's a massive hotel on every available plot of waterfront turf. A pedestrian walkway lined with restaurants, bars, and shops anchored by the sleek Puerto Paraíso mall curves around Cabo San Lucas harbor, itself packed with yachts.
Day 04-Magical Mazatlan
Although Mazatlán is the ancient Nahuatl (Aztec) word for "place of the deer," most of the region's wildlife has retreated into the
surrounding hills after losing most of the natural habitat to a human population that has grown to 750,000. Early on, the city was a protected port used mostly by English and French pirates. Vibrant neighborhoods, which often bounce to the beat of the banda music that was born here in southern Sinaloa State, are filled with families supported by industries like fishing, farming, the port, the Pacífico Brewery, the Marino coffee company, and, of course, tourism.
Day 5—Puerto Vallarta
Zumba early morning and then hit the Port!
Although Puerto Vallarta (PV) has spread north and south over the years, every attempt has been made to keep its character intact. Above downtown, steep roads twist through jungles of pines and palms, and rivers rush down to meet fine sand beaches and rocky coves. The beautiful Bahía de Banderas provides shelter from storms at sea and has been attracting outsiders since the 16th century. In the 1950s Puerto Vallarta was essentially a hideaway for those in the know -- the wealthy and a few hardy escapists. When it first entered the general public's consciousness, with John Huston's 1964 movie The Night of the Iguana, PV was a quiet fishing and farming community. After the movie was released, tourism boomed, and today PV has some 300,000 residents. Airports, hotels, and highways have supplanted palm groves and fishing shacks. About 2 million people visit each year, so the cobblestone streets can be clogged with pedestrians and cars.
